The Savannah River has been the lifeblood of Savannah for centuries, and the Port of Savannah has grown into the largest container terminal in the country. This 90-minute river and port cruise will offer insights into the river's rich past and bustling present. Hear intriguing tales, fascinating historical facts and insights about Savannah’s modern port and discover how this vibrant harbor has evolved into one of the busiest ports in the world, attracting ships from across the globe. 

All attendees and their guests are welcome to participate in this tour.

Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia (NO SPOTS LEFT)

Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia serves as the food safety net for tens of thousands of people who are at risk for hunger throughout Coastal Georgia. This group will be working on packing breakfast kits for the Summer Feeding program.

Fight Dirty Tybee (NO SPOTS LEFT)

Fight Dirty Tybee is an organization committed to removing trash and marine debris from the beaches of Tybee Island. This group will work on restoring the beauty of Tybee's beaches by picking up those items that don't belong on the beach.

Coastal Pet Rescue

Coastal Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected dogs and cats in Savannah and surrounding areas. Founded in February 2003, Coastal Pet Rescue changes the lives of homeless pets in Chatham, Bryan and Effingham Counties through its foster home program and small capacity shelter, Camp Pawsawhile Retreat.

Our team will help with cleaning and organizing cages, landscaping, and dog/cat play.

The 2025 Young Leaders Golf Tournament will take place at The Club at Savannah Harbor, adjacent to the Westin. A complimentary shuttle is available from the Westin's front drive, and the course is within walking distance of the hotel. Tournament contests include:

  • Longest drive (male & female)
  • Closest to the pin (male & female)
  • Top team

Schedule

7-8 a.m.: Registration, breakfast & warm-up. Please check in at the NSSGA registration desk in the clubhouse.
8 a.m.: Shotgun start
8 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Tournament play
Lunch is available at the clubhouse once play is complete


PLEASE NOTE: Golf foursomes are typically created to foster networking among attendees. Any specific foursome requests must be submitted in writing to meetings@nssga.org by Friday, April 11.

Description

Take a saunter through Savannah’s historic district with a dedicated guide. You’ll cover over 300 years of Georgia’s first city’s history, while walking streets lined with antebellum architecture and parks at every turn.  Topics to be discussed include native people, colonial history, the Civil War, present day preservation efforts and more. Linking Savannah's history with her incomparable beauty will leave you with memories not soon forgotten.

  • Tours given rain or shine
  • Appropriate weather gear, comfortable walking shoes, bottled water & camera recommended

Are you new to golfing, or do you want to become a better golfer? Attend the Young Leaders Golf Clinic to gain an understanding of essential golf swings. Working with pro golfers, you’ll learn to putt, chip and drive. The clinic fee includes the 90-minute clinic, clubs, golfballs and lunch following the event.

A complimentary shuttle is available from the Westin's front drive, and the course is within walking distance of the hotel.

Spend the morning on the water and try your luck along Savannah's shores! Potential catches include redfish, shark, tarpon, sheepshead, black drum, Jack crevalle, cobia, flounder, spotted sea trout and triple tail.

This catch-and-release trip includes your private four-person boat with experienced captain, equipment and bait, fishing license, breakfast, coolers and ice. Please note that this trip is BYOB and hard liquor is not permitted.

Boats will board at 8 AM from the Westin dock.

The group will meet at the Westin Dock at 10:30 a.m. for a ferry ride across the river and brief walk to the boarding point.
