The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis is a one-of-a-kind work of art. With its lofty vaults and radiant mosaics, the sheer scale of beauty is a thing of awe. More than a dozen architects' and artisans' concepts and works have coalesced in a magnificently well-integrated and harmonious whole. From top to bottom, front to back, the Cathedral Basilica draws one's thoughts and emotions upward toward the contemplation of something transcendent.

The museum and tours of the Cathedral Basilica offer any visitor a guided overview of just how much there is to see and learn about the historic site. The museum offers a glimpse at the history of the breathtaking church, its community, and events that led to its completion. Tours offer visitors the ability to learn more about the symbolism of many elements of the building while learning more about its rich history.

All are welcome to visit the museum to learn why this place has come to earn the nickname of "the Rome of the West."

Participants will take home a completed illustration on mixed media paper, as well as new skills to add confidence to your personal art practice.

NSSGA will provide transportation to & from the workshop, held at the Studio at Bowood. Coffee, light bites, & pastries will be served.

Bowood Farms runs this incredible studio, which is part of a larger complex including a gift shop, garden center, and organic cafe. Bowood Farms is a 4th generation family farm situated high above the Mississippi River in the rolling hills of Clarksville, Missouri. In 2005 they made the decision to shift to retail. Each season they hand select an assortment of perennials, annuals and herbs to be grown by the team at the farm. The farm is still a working farm in addition to the nursery. Their focus is now on environmentally friendly management practices such as; large fields of native grasses and pollinator plants, timber stand improvements, in addition to grain production. In their own words: "Whether we are coordinating classes in The Studio with local artists, showing off our favorite selection of goods for the home, or helping customers select the perfect plant, we are delighted to bring our love of the garden to you!"
